Anyone know anything about this set? Has it suffered from the same problem I've seen threads about other Duro's in this forum? From what I know its a 2005 Limited Edition limited to 200 rollerball/fountain pen sets.

I don't have this pen, but I've seen it many times on my visits to Fahrney's over the last two years. It is a lovely pen, with a nice heft that was missing from the Conway Stewart regular production of that era -- but the pen was just too small for me. It is smaller than a Duro, but I believe it has the same nib. I've never heard of one of these pens having problems.

I have a regular Duro, probably produced in 2003 or 2004, and it has never given me any problems.

Good to hear, thanks!

Anyone have a photo of this pen? Still looking to buy my first Conway Stewart! Nearly sold on the Wellington but looking at other options.

Greetings BurkStar

If you have the opportunity to pick up a CS Duro or Wellington or Churchill or...just do it. I have never been dissatisfied with any purchase I've made of modern CS writing instruments. They are well-made and the nibs are generally butter smooth. (if you stay away from extra fine). I have three Duro's, two Churchill's, two "58s", and 2 Dandy's - all in sets. They are wonderful pens.

I have found that most folks who purchase the CS writing instruments have a tendency to keep them rather than to purchase and resell. I might be an exception because I've just sold a beautiful Duro and am considering selling one of my Churchill's. But the only, and I honestly mean the only reason I sold the Duro and am thinking about selling the Churchill is because I don't think that I will ever ink the pens - I didn't the Duro; it was mint like my Churchill - all of the other pens I use in regular rotation.

One may hear of a problem with a particular pen manufacturer's line of offerings, but those are generally one-offs and always resolved by the manufacturer. I don't think that anyone can have a 100% track record - that's why all of the major writing instrument houses have service centers. So purchase in the confidence that you're going to get a really nice pen that you'll be happy to own and use. And when you do, post a picture so we can all congratulate you.

Peace,

Phroneo

I have two Churchills, two Duros, and two Silver pens. All of them write really well. Several of my Conway Stewarts have the factory medium italic nib, and it is very nice.
