I am increasing the number of inks that I use, where in earlier days I used to have far more vintage fountain pens than inks. Now its allmost break even. I know, I am a user. But tell me: do you have more inks or more FP's ?

Boy it's neck and neck. I think i'm up to 144 bottles of ink. Some are tiny bottles that I got in Europe. I'd say I have about 100 bottles of useable ink and a few others, sets so to speak. ... and about 100 pens... I better get busy on E bay and buy more pens to even this thing out. I don't know how I end up with so many bottles of ink. It's about time for me to have a sell off.
cheers

Inks, by far.

More pens. I soon realized how long it takes to empty a bottle and curbed my purchases accordingly. It's been hard since there are some inks I really want....but I must stand firm...discipline...aaargh!

2 to 1. I have roughly two fountain pens to every bottle of ink. 100 pens, 56 bottles of ink. Some of the bottles of ink are duplicates of inks I love. For instance I have a 1/2 dozen extra bottles of Penman Sapphire!

I have between 2 and 3 times as many pens as inks. Due to the size of ink bottles, I would strongly suggest the KCat system for ink trading if you want to try other inks or at least the Pear Tree sampler program. I estimate that I'll do well to write out about 2 to 3 ounces of ink a year. That's somewhere between a bottle of Parker Quink and a bottle of Noodler's. By that measure, my modest collection of 14 inks will last me over a decade.
