Full Version: Pelikan cartridge in a Lamy Safari/Vista

I'm still fairly new to fountain pens and I was wondering if the long Pelikan ink cartridges would fit in my Lamy Vista? I don't want to order the cartridges without knowing if they'll fit. The Pelikan's look about the same size as the Lamys, but it's hard to tell online. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

No, they don't fit. You need Lamy cartridges.

The best way to go probably, is getting a Lamy converter. That way you can use any fountain pen ink.

Thanks Wim. I'm glad I didn't go ahead and get the cartridges. I will see about buying a converter though.

It's only a pleasure.

Do make sure you get one for your Safari/Vista (and Al-Star - same converter) though. There are 3 types, which are all different (even though 2 of them are interchangeable biggrin.gif). The Lamy cartridges are made to work with any Lamy, the converters not, unfortunately.

Warm regards, Wim

Incidentally, just saw some Lamy cartridges at my local Borders (Austin, TX) in the caligraphy section. No Lamy pens, though huh.gif
