I' ve just had my pen serviced and have been informed that "...the spigot which pierces the ink cartridge is worn, so the converter is a rather slack fill..." and "...you may need a new nib unit..".
I have a Parker Duofold Centennial, so I'm concerned any replacement parts wont be cheap!
Any idea how much a repair for this would cost??
Thanks,
Crazybrab
BTW I purchased my Parker back in 1999, I don't suppose this will be under warranty from Parker?

According to the instruction booklet, Duofolds have a full lifetime warranty. (On the other hand, it says that the warranty cannot be transferred, so you might have problems if you don't have the papers. Or, if they claim that the failure is a result of abuse.)

Are we to understand that the pen is Parkers hands at the moment, or is it with some other service/repair center?
There are a couple of things that can happen to a converter that may allow or cause it to leak.
1] The nipple can crack or spit, which may allow or cause it to leak
2] The nipple itself cold flows and expands, loosening the seal, and therefore causing a leak.
It may be worth simply inserting a cartridge before you order a converter. If the leak stops, you need a replacement converter. If it continues, there may be damage somewhere else, but I doubt that is the case.
The converters are under $10. The nib assembly is likely to start at $100 for an International, and go up from there for a Centenial.
