Never used an Edson pen, but from what I see on pictures it seems to be the same nib, anyone can say that is true. Thanks smile.gif

No...They're very different !!!

The nibs on the two pen models resemble one another, but they are different nibs with different internals. Both models write extremely well and are worth looking into.

Yes they are different, but both characteristically very rigid.
Just Black GT Ballpoint
The nibs on the two pen models resemble one another like Tarja Halonen and Conan O'Brien.

Waterman Carene has hooded nib and Waterman Edson inlaid one.

Thanks tou all for the information, guess I have to start looking for an Edson so I can compare it with my Carene. smile.gif

I am interested in your impressions when you locate and use an Edson. I have three of them and I find them to be large, comfortable pens that have a little weight and substance to them. They are also lovely. Mine have all been great writers out of the box. The nibs are rigid, but that is a good trait since mine have factory stub nibs. I also got an EF nib for my ruby (old model) example and it, too, writes like a charm. I wish the black model were not so #%& expensive or I would have one of that version, too.

A friend of mine just lent me to test drive an edson with broad nib. IŽll test it and compare it to my Carene Stub. Shortly IŽll post my impressions.
