I had been meaning to post about how happy I have been after converting a Sheaffer school pen to an eyedropper fill pen using the silicone lube that I had ordered from Ace Hardware. I actually converted it more than a month ago and was enjoying it so much, and trusting it so much, that it stopped being a go to desk pen to being one of the pens I keep in a case and take with me almost everywhere I go. The seal has been flawless and the ink supply great. So all was going well until ... I somehow thought it would be OK to leave the pen in the car with overnight temperatures dropping into the 20s. Well I took the pen out and noticed the dreded ink all over my fingers syndrome. Actually, I'm not sure that the seal failed, I think the extremes back and forth in temperatures may have just pushed extra ink out of the "normal" places.
A quick clean up and wiping out the cap and all is fine--I hope!
