I seem to be having flow issues with just this color. Tried the ink in 3 pens that have never had a flow problem. After about a 1/2 hour of writing the ink seems to coagulate or dry. A quick dip in water and I'm fine for 15- 20 mins. After flushing and replacing with other PR inks the problem doesn't return.
Anyone experience this or have any ideas for a 'quick fix'?
Thanks

Interesting phenomenon. Maybe the seal on your cap bottle isn't working as it should? Try adding a few drops (literally) of water to the ink bottle, and see how it behaves. I think some of the water may have evaporated. Of course that could also be the case with the pen, so maybe before you do this, try the ink in a different pen, and see how it behaves then.

I do find PR Chocolate is a slightly dry writing ink, BTW.

Anyway, HTH, warm regards, Wim

PR Chocolat has been in my Aurora Style in my daily rotation. I haven't had any flow issues. If the water suggested by the Dutchman doesn't work, maybe a drop or two of Tryphon Ink Safe?

Thanks for the tips. I'll start with the water and let you know. I did notice ink around the bottle lip where it meets the cap seal so that could be the culprit.

No flow issues, but very slow drying...

Ah yes, slow drying, good to hear that I am not the only one who's noticed this.
It is a wonderful ink, maybe I'll try some drops of water.
By the way, wat paper are you using, Brian?

Best regards,

Jarno.

I agree with this Jay's statement. Its very slow drying and after a while writing with it, a smudge test comes out as somewhat powdery---like very very fine solids are present. Is this what you mean?

Various -- the office copier paper (Navigator, I think), some blank letterhead that seems to have some cotton content and weave texture, as well as the vaunted HP 32 lb.

What I notice is imprints of letters and words on my right hand even long after I've written something if I somehow manage to rest my hand on the page. Haven't had the problem with Diamine Emerald or Waterman Florida Blue or Quink Blue Black or Herbin Blue. Just the Chocolate...guess it melts!

Not really powdery for me...I'll try to check tomorrow...

I've been using PR Chocolat in my Lamy Safari w/ a 1.5mm italic nib with no significant issues. With that pen it does seen to take a while to dry, but I attributed that to the volume of ink that nib lays down. It hasn't bothered me since I primarily use that pen for letter writing (looks great on Original Crown Mill cream paper btw puddle.gif ), and I only write on one side of the page as a norm.
