I went to the Staples close to work at lunch, and found their entire "better pen" section covered by clearance tags. I didn't pay attention to the BP's and RB's, but they had the Phileas marked down to $22.90, the Parker Latitude (stainless) to $28.90, and the Latitude (black) to $40.90.

Maybe they got tired of not knowing anything about the merchandise.

Sad but probably true. I had a hard enough time just paying for a Phileas at the closeout price. It would have been hopeless to try to get any information about it.

I bought a black Phileas there yesterday and was very, very tempted by the Latitude there. The only thing keeping me from going back is I would have to take a very long lunch to get back there. Other Staples in the area don't have their fountain pens on sale.

Great! If the sale is still on I want a black Phileas. Been eyeing them for a while now.

I checked the store close to home this evening, and they had the pens at the regular price. Maybe the clearance is at the store manager's discretion.

Phileas $38-ish at my Staples. I think that's a small discount but I was hoping for the $22 of the OP.

I am gonna have to go by there Monday or so and buy something, I miss my Parker and I need a new one.
