Take a look at the article that you quoted. You'll see that black and gold is the matte lacquer finish. So, no... Or, have I misunderstood your question?

I saw one at Staples. In fact, I was very much on the fence about getting it. I'm still thinking about it. I'm sure it's still there. Hopefully, on sale.

Nope. The stainless is simply manufactured and light. The colors have a heftier base metal and lacquer layers. That being said, I find the writing quality on all of the Latitudes spotty. Give me a Lamy (All Star or Studio) any day.
