Hi Everyone,

Thought I'd try my hand at some blog writing, to supplement my other writing activities. No fountain pen content yet, but planning some in the next week or so.

Anyway, I hope it's of some interest to FP Networkers! Just click the image below....

Regards,

Nathan Hondros

nathan- who is the author in the picture on your first post on this thread? The guy with a beer in his hand? Also, since you are in Perth, would you please recommend a few interesting Aussie authors?
BTW, I lived in Canberra when I was a little child, from age approx 10 months till I was almost 4. Dad was teaching at the ANU.

Oh I could spend hours listing Aussie authors, but here are just a few:

Patrick White
Peter Carey
David Malouf

I'd recommend anything by these authors (Patrick White is of course our only nobel laureate for literature). I can suggest titles if you like.

I used to work in Canberra as a political staffer (god help me)! I bet you can remember the cold!

You're welcome. I would have fixed it right in your post and left a note that I had corrected it but I'm not a moderator in this section and my magic power ring doesn't work here. roflmho.gif

I didn't even notice it was messed up. embarrassed_smile.gif

You have a very nice, clean blog there. I really like how much depth the photos add to the writing - attending to the visual as well as the literary spheres. Regarding your recent post where you describe how you've tried many different methods for getting your thoughts to the paper, which way have you found works best? Do you find that writing with a fountain pen helps the thoughts flow more easily?

It would be pretty difficult not to like a blog which uses a picture of Bukowski holding a beer in front of a fridge! biggrin.gif Having said that, I've bookmarked your site for the quality of its content. I enjoy your poetry tremendously and will be checking back frequently to see what else you've got up your sleeve. Thanks for posting such a useful and thoughtful blog. thumbup.gif

Best,
Kelly

P.S. Very happy to read you've procured a Pel M215, Binderized. I have the blue striped version with a Binder 0.6 stub and find it my smoothest, most reliable writer.

Thanks for reading and for liking!

By far, I'm settled into the fountain pen as the best way of getting thoughts down on paper. It slows down the flow of words slightly, so that I have time to contemplate sentences more thoroughly. Also, using a word processor, I am tempted to edit as I write, which is ok in small scale, but when I'm writing longer pieces, I find that I can't work up enough good raw material.

And I love the look of the words on paper when they come out in a nice ink. Right now my M215 is loaded with Diamine Monaco Red which looks great on clean white paper.

I'm still looking for the perfect notebook, though...

Thanks, Kelly.

My M215 is the blue stripe as well! I just love it. Richard has made it a nice wet writer as well, which is brilliant as it lays done lots of ink just the way I like it! So far its been very reliable.

I'm not Australian but I like Christopher Koch, who wrote The Year of Living Dangerously and Highway to a War. I believe he is Australian. I think he's written a few other books as well.

And I also like Nathan's blog! Good job. smile.gif I have a sudden urge to read Marcel Proust!
