I finally saved the money to buy the new CS 100 that I have always wanted. I love green pens, but the pictures I see online of the Classic Green 100s seem like the green is a too light for my taste. However, the pictures of the Classic Green Nelson on both Mary's CS site and Stylophiles appear rich and dark -- just exactly what I prefer.
I am assuming that Classic Green is Classic Green; in other words, the same rod stock is used for all models. Is this correct? I am hoping it is only the lighting in the photos that makes the difference. Does anyone have any personal photos of a Classic Green 100?
On the other hand, the peppered white calls to me too.... I'd better start saving again.

Hello Fred,
Mary's colors are correct for classic green. I have a Duro fountain pen, rollerball and pencil in classic green. They are a nice dark green with some very light green flecks and almost black overtones scattered about. The color - to me - is a very deep rich green. I think that classic green is the perfect name for it.
If I can get to a camera in the next few days, I'll post a picture of one of them. But I'm out of town and that may be difficult for me to do.
Peace,
Phroneo

Hi again, Fred.
I understand that you want a Conway Stewart 100 but I don't own one. What I'm showing you here is the Conway Stewart classic green that is on my Duro pens - in this case my Duro fountain pen. I have no doubt that the classic green color is the same, aside from the naturally small variations inherent in runs of custom made product - but they will all be close.
The color here is natural as captured by my camera. I corrected only for brightness. You can zoom in on these as much as you want. I have a 12 mega pixel camera so the resolution should be just fine.

Phroneo,
Thank you very much for the pictures. The hue is exactly what I would like. I appreciate your time.
Almost makes me want a Duro instead of the 100!

Just a quick follow-up:
My CS 100 arrived, and the color is very true to the pictures that Phroneo posted of his Duro. My pictures don't show it as well. The fit and finish of the pen are fantastic. The size is perfect for my hand and writing style. The nib gives great tactile feedback and, after flushing the converter several times, good flow. It is a looker, but even more important to me, it seems to be an enjoyable writer.
I was hoping that buying this pen would help ease my pen bug --- but maybe I still need one in peppered white....
I am impressed with my first Conway Stewart experience.

Classic Green and Peppered White are two of the most beautiful colors produced by Conway Stewart. I think you need a pen in each of these two colors.

Congrats! The 100 is a magnificent pen. They're the perfect size for me too, and they are beautifully made. But first and foremost, these pens are reliable and enjoyable writers. The Classic Green sure looks like my next birthday present.

You are right about the quality of the writing. On the sixth day, and I enjoy it more every day. I dithered about getting the converter rather than the piston filler, but the converter, after an ammonia wash, has started a generous wet line every time.
I need to find something to write so I can use it more than I do!
