You do not require new members to eat Vegemite as part of their initiation, do you? Had an Australian friend years ago, lost touch when her family moved to San Franciso, (I was stationed with her husband, and they lived around the corner from us) but she maintained that people either swear by Vegemite or swear at it.
At your next club meeting, throw another shrimp on the barbie for me.

I'm a South African transplant and my theory is that vegemite is a practical joke that the Aussies play on the rest of the world ;-)

Vegemite eh..... well we have Marmite in good old GB and that is another love/hate thing. A smear behind the ear keeps head lice away I have been told. Downside is that it also keeps eveery other living thing away as well

Can't stand vegemite. Too damned salty for me. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too salty. And that's when you lay it on paper-thin.
