In the Field Guuide to Japanese nibs, article I saw a post where a reader asked to see my early PIlot with a Flacoln nib, and I thought I would start a new thread.

The pen has a 1926 date code on the nib, and has the laconite patent number. I wrote an article about Pilots Laconite pens about five years ago, and you can read it here.

Here is the image. I am sorry it is not very clear. The clip reads "The Pilot"

It was me who asked for a picture of this pen.
Yes, it deserves it's own thread.

Thank you very much, Dr. Dutcher !

I'm in love with both japanese pens and flex nibs. On top of that it's a very old pen. It's a beauty.
For sure you have my envy... embarrassed_smile.gif

Have you ever used the pen?

Both of the pens on this thread are quite nice, and really evocative of a different era (not necessarily a good time, but).

Wow, a nice rounded cap on this one, Laura. thumbup.gif Is that a black clip?

Yes - the Well has a very nice urushi-coated clip, extremely glossy and gorgeous all over. smile.gif

Wow Laura, I have the same pen....Almost. Well, mine doesn't have the cool black lacquer clip as yours. I love the black clip pens.

Also here is a war-time Sailor with a Falcon nib.
