Hi,
I recently bought a parker 45 fountain pen on ebay listed as having a fine point but the seller ships it not in the original parker gift box. The nib on the parker 45 is partially covered with plastic therefore I can't see any markings on the nib which would tell me if the pen is actually a fine point as described on the auction. Is there anyway in which I can see what kind of point (fine, medium) the fountain pen has without inking the pen? Thank you all advance.

On a Parker 45 there is a collar around the base of the nib. Is this the plastic you are talking about?

On my P45 there is an X on the collar at the underside of the nib that reflects the fact that my nib is Xtra Fine.

Can you see anything similar on your pen?

Regards,
David
