Full Version: Duke Silver Ring -- Cartridge Ink (Waterman)

So I got my pen yesterday, and today I bought the cartridge. The pen is brand new, and am having troubles getting it to "write". I searched some on the forum, but couldn't find much about how to get it to start flowing ink. I tried giving the cartridge a little squeeze, but all that did was make a blob of ink come out the underside of the nib.

You could running the nib under water as sometimes there are residues of grease on the, or just dip the tip in water, this can get the capillary action working and draw ink into the nib for writing, it will be faint for a couple of lines until the flow gets going, but can often get a dry pen working again.

Also check to see if the cartridge is properly pushed in.

Good luck

I had a couple bum cartridges, and second the suggestions to check that the cartridge is pushed in write (sometimes you'll hear it snap or click into place.). Also clean the nib. I had some success widening the times with a safety pin once, but it was an act fo desparation.
