I am brand new to this forum but my older OMAS FP isn't any more.
Let me explain... below are some pics of the said FP. The problem isn't the rust/oxidation showing on the clip and the three cap rings, as much as the light scratches I have caused this pen by attempting to rid the clip and said rings free from the rust/oxidation problem. This problem has been going on for many years, as long as the pen was sitting in its box. Once a year, I would clean it up with some toothpaste and it worked miracles. Only that last time I gave it a clean a was a bit more "enthousiastic" about doing so and I have lightly scratched up the cap with the
result of achieving a dull looking effect on the cap, not so much on the barrel, which still looks glossy/shiny.
And my dillema is... do I send this in for retouching/repair or is there a way I can do this on my own? I have used this pen in the past on and off for light writing and I just love it. I would like to see it restored. It's a classic OMAS design, imho.
Thanks for any suggestions you could offer.
