Hi,

I wanted to get MB Racing Green after all the comments. It seems like the perfect GreenBlack

But I got a sampler of NL Zhivago. Also described as a GreenBlack.

And Zhivago was very good... but the color didn't do anything for me. It was too "dull", too "flat". It lacked a little more punch in the green. Too close to an army green.

Are they the same? if not, based on why I don't like Zhivago, could I predict liking\disliking Racing Green?

Thanks,

ncik

To my eye, with my pens, they both look more black than green--or rather, like dirty motor oil. In fact, if I didn't know they were supposed to be somewhat green, I wouldn't notice it. That said, MB racing green tends somewhat more greenish than Zhivago. I add some green to both, with good effect. Both are water resistant, Zhivago somewhat more so than MB racing.

I have both MB RG and Zhivago, and used to own a bottle of Army Green. I like RG the best among the three. MB RG is greener than Zhivago. Zhivago looks black in very fine nibbed pen, but RG looks green. RG is darker than Army Green, IIRC. I did not like AG and sold it, but RG will stay in my rotation. It's in my Pelikan M400 White Tortoise right now smile.gif
