I am the clumsiest person on the planet, no doubt. I bought a MB 149 and it WAS wonderful. It took a fall jsut recently. Oddly enough the fall was a short distance. The rear cap that controls the piston broke in half. What is this precisous resin made of? it is very brittle. I usually carry a cheapo Waterman Phiealis and that thing has rolled off a desk and took it in stride. I know the 149 is made of precious resin, but it looks like regular plastic used in the Phealis and the Phealis is tougher and less precious I.E. I could buy another one for half of the repair cost.

Sorry I'm just venting. I'll post some photos when I get home if anyone in interested.
Don't know if this is any consolation. At least you dropped it. My 149 had the following problems, without dropping:
The lower sections separate from the barrel at where the threads meeting the ink window. I think they glued it there and the glue fell apart...meaning I could put a piece of paper through it into the barrel...meaning it leaked. They fixed it for free, even after the warranty. This happened twice. Twice they fixed it. Now it is OK.
The piston leaked. Ink got above the piston. Costed my $60 to replace. While replacing this, they put a couple of dinks on my precious resin barrel.
And they updated the feed without my asking for it and charged me $40.
Oh well.
