Hi,
first night as a member and just bouncing through the topics and soaking up all available heat from my PC. Have a passion for a great variety of pens, most of which I can't afford but for some years have been collecting Targa's. Having to shed my collection as Santa comes in the form of a credit card bill in January sad.gif .

Hope to get to know many of you over the course of the next year. Any professional counsellors out there might be able to help me cope with the loss of my precious's!!

Meanwhile a big hello and warm regards from Ayrshire.

Welcome to FPN, Hugh, from a chilly Wales (but I'm sure that you've got it worse up there!).

Hi Neil
not so sure bout that. Parts of Wales seem to invent their own weather. Frequented Betws-y-Coed when I lived in Chester. Seem to recall it raining every single time I was there.
Thanks for the welcome smile.gif

Welcome to FPN. You've found a friendly and knowledgeable clan.
Where are you in Scotland?
Several years ago I had the pleasure of hiking through NW Scotland and Skye . Spectacular country!
I was hoping for rain but got nothing but brilliant blue skies for the good part of two weeks.

Regards,
Jeen

Hello and welcome to this little pen lover's part of the wired world.

It still amazes me how the collecting of pens is international and how FPN can bring together people from all over.

If you are interested in using the pens you collect take a look over in "The Write Stuff" forum for our little snailer list.

Welcome again

Welcome to FPN Agamemnon! biggrin.gif

First we had Apollo join up...and now you! I was expecting you to have that famous gold mask as your avatar smile.gif

Like Jeen, I too hiked around NW Scotland and saw the Isle of Skye, among other things. This was back in '93 when I had a BritRail pass and toured all around England and Scotland. I loved visiting Scotland and would love to visit the Highlands again, with my husband (maternal side of the family is in the Gunn clan) this time smile.gif

Hi Jeen
living in Ayrshire off the West coast. Beautiful part of the country, real mix between urban, rural, wealthy and poverty. Great for golf, Robert Burns, walking and even has the odd public house, very odd in some cases wink.gif . If you get here again try the Isle of Arran, absolutly stunning. Often called Scotland in miniture, except the midges of course. Ifyour lucky you might even get a spot of rain.
Thanks for the welcome

Hi Maja
haven't figured out how to put pictures on yet. Name is a link to my sci-fi interest. Loved Babylon 5 and Sheridans last command was on the Agamemnon. Had to look it up at the time, even learned something. I'll have a look for a picture.
Watch this space, may take a bit of time though blink.gif

Hi Kurt
thanks for the advice've had my video recorder three years and still not cracked it, age and technology competency seemingly branch as the years go on. It might take me a while to get the hang of the site but working on it wink.gif

Welcome, Hugh. It's not too warm down here in London today, either.

Welcome aboard! You'll find some other sci-fi junkies here. Right now it's raining here (eastern NC, USA) also, but we need it (bad drought - getting close to shutting off the water supply blink.gif ). Do hope you figure things out quickly - would love to seem some pics of your collection. Until then, how about a list? See ya around the boards!
Agamemnon
Hi Southpaw
pictures might be easier, eh how do I do that?

never been to scotland, but having read some books on whisk(e)y, i feel like i've been there...
ever try a dram of isle of arran? iirc, it's one of the newest distilleries. bet it's a fiery drink given its youth. (sorry and disregard if you're a teetotaller) wink.gif

of course, skye produces a super whisk(e)y too - talisker, yum. personally one thing i look foward to during cooler weather is breaking out the peaty scotches. what a reek! (summer's for bourbon, and the rest of the year, blended and irish). smile.gif

I'm not Jeen, but I've been to the isle of Arran. Lovely place. I stayed for a day and a half and did a lot of walking. The sea lions are great! smile.gif

Oh, thanks for sating my curiosity with the answer to your username here, Agamemnon. I was wondering if you were a Greek mythology buff.... I haven't watch "Babylon 5" myself; I'm a diehard Trekkie, though laugh.gif
Agamemnon
Hi
not a big whiskey drinker but partial to the occasional Rusty Nail (50/50 Whiskey and Drambue), lost a few days through those. Visited the Arran distillary last time I was over there. Unfortunatly I was in the car which mean I had to listen to the cats choir on the way back to our lodge.

Good to see a couple of trekkies out there. Perhaps the best values based, non discriminatory, multiethnic and gender based programmes ever. Though Kirk did seem to bonk every alien life species he encoutered. Foam rocks always a favorite with me as were the Tribbles.

Don't recall Kirk, Picard, Janeway or Archer using any kind of pen. There's a thought rolleyes.gif

Anyone want to suggest an appropriate pen for the Captains?? eureka.gif

Something big and clever for Kirk
Straight and reliable for Picard
Janeway would need a pen that changes ink colour half way through writing something
and Archer might need a ballpoint smile.gif
