Just acquired a Parker Geometric (toothbrush) pen. It is a Canadian slender model in grey color.

What perhaps is rather unusual is that it is a Parker Victory. David I (of Vacumania fame) briefly referred to a Parker Victoy Geometric in reply to a question from Old Griz on this forum back in Dec 06, but I can find no other reference to this model.

Presumably it was manufactured in 1945 or not long after, unless it refers to some other victory? Does anyone have any more information - eg Which colors/versions produced? When? How long for?

Thanks

Hi,

Whilst I am not as up on the dating of British Parkers as those of USA production, my recollection is that the Victory name long preceded any war victory during that era.

I have green and brown toothbrush Duofolds re (?) badged as Victories. Grand pens. Whether Parker had left over plastic following the roughly one year run of the Geo in the USA (1939-very early 1940) and blew some of it out for overseas sales, or had tested the plastic and look before making the pen in the USA or used both in parallel... i do not know. But, clearly the pens are far less common with Victory imprints.

I'd expect to see the usual four colors (including black).

regards

david

Many thanks for the info.

I am thinking of selling this pen - any idea what price it should go for?

It is in pretty good shape - slight discoloration at end of the cap, no chips or cracks although the tiniest of indents to the rim of the cap - literally a fraction of a millimetre and not at all obvious. Unrestored condition.

Anyone interested?

Here are a few pics. Sorry for the delay but the host I normally use is not working at the moment. Please click on links - I couldn't find out how to load image.

Sorry to press this...

This pen came in a batch of items which I am thinking of returning to the seller, as some of the other pens had damage not stated in the listing. If someone can come up with a reasonable offer - I am not looking for a big profit, just to cover my costs - please say so. Further pics can be provided.

If you are actually looking to sell it, putting it in the for sale section would probably yield faster results.

The problem is I have no idea what a fair price would be.

I am not really even sure what would be a reasonable price for an equivalent slim grey Duofold Geometric.

I am pretty ignorant about these pens. [Added to that I have lost my broadband connection and am on sloth speed dial up!]

There was a Duofold geometric pen and pencil set in silver on a UK site which sold for £130 last summer; I was paying attention because I'd just paid $35 for a set in the same condition. That's as helpful as I can offer.

Thanks for the info.

Got my broadband connection back and have placed pen in the for sale section as Deirdre suggested. Pen priced at $70 which is roughly what I paid it, after discounting the cost of the other items in batch.

Has attracted some interest + hopefully will sell shortly...
