Just a short email to announce the next Vancouver Pen Club meeting.
Date: Tuesday, February 26th, 2008
Time: 6:00--Meet & Greet; 6:30--Start of meeting
Place: Perks pen shop, 5844 Cambie St (at 42nd), Vancouver, BC
Theme: Show us your newest acquisition(s)
We are departing from our traditional Thursday meeting day in order to allow a couple of regular members (otherwise occupied Thursdays this Winter/Spring) a chance to attend. I hope the date and time works for everyone.
Our thanks go out to Richard Clarke of Perks, once again, for his gracious hospitality. The meeting is being held during the dinner hour, so members are welcome to bring takeout food into the store to consume during the meeting. Our meetings usually run about two to two and a half hours but if anyone needs to leave early, or can't make it quite on time, that is OK, too. Just knock on the front door and we'll let you in as the store officially closes at 6:00pm that day. Purchases can be made after the meeting, of course, in case anything you see in the store strikes your fancy (as an aside, Richard's Perks store now carries the very popular Noodler's line of fountain pen inks)
We've been tinkering with the idea of a VPC website (with free hosting through Blogger.com, and linked to a domain name with a very low yearly registration fee) and VPC business cards for members to hand out to prospective new members, so please bring any ideas for the website or club logo ideas (for the business cards) to the meeting for discussion. We don't expect anything overly professional, logo-wise, but it would be nice to have a logo on the business cards, if it is feasible.
