I'm new to FPN and just joined today.I just won recently on ebay a gold bond pen that happens to be a doric.
I'm already intrigued that Wahl made pens for Monkey Wards(didn't know that 'til I read it here),but what I would
like to know is if they made them in a deep burgundy or purple color.

I also have what I'm certain is a Chilton(my first!)in a color that I've never seen before listed anywhere with some interesting provenance.If anyone can show me where I can post the info,that would be helpful.

Let me know what the color of the chilton is, I would be much glad to help you know what the name of the color is. Chiltons are great pens, but of course I may be somewhat biased.

Yes, Sumgaikid, Burgundy or pearlized deep red marble plastic was one color/material that was made in the Gold Bond brand. When it comes to Chiltons and pen istory of that brand you might post your information on the Pen History Forum here on FPN and/or on The Lion and Pen website. While we have a lot of information around FPN, L&P has a good reputation for pen history and the families and personalities of vintage pendom, too. Amongst others with a decent library, David Isaacson hangs out here on FPN from tiime to time and will probably see your question here on FPN. He has an extremely complete photo-gallery of a huge numer of pens and can be relied on to comment if he sees your picture post. And Richard Krantz, I think also focuses on Chiltons.

I picked up a very nice Carter at Philly, but no Chiltons there. I will have a few with me at LA.

I didn't take that long to pay for them. I probably should have thought a bit before purchasing a few, but glad I bought every one of them I did.
