Travelling through a province in Argentina I found a man selling this nice old set, so I gought it to him. Was Sheaffer so I said how wrong could I be. So I started investigating about it and happened to be my first snorkel, but the funniest thing is that the nib is F3 extremely fine, and the caps doesenīt have the white spot as all the soueragn has so they told me it was a strange item. here are some pictures of the pen and the set.

Any Thoughts?

I think that is a Sovereign-- it's the Clipper that has the chrome cap with the dot.

...and I'm not so much smart as I am a guy who knows where to look.

Interesting. I'm not such a Snorkel expert, but the cap is certainly different from other Snorkels I've seen.

Exactly, is different as it doesenīt have the white dot in the caps, neither the pencil or the FP. As they told me the sovereign all had the white dot, but not this one. And also they told me that never was a sovereign with such a fine nib.

Trying to find out when it was possibly produced and if itīs a special kind of sovereign.

This set is in mint condition, in the nib its possible to read 3F writen with chalk and the mechanism works really fine, never inked. To try the nib I dipped it only once and is really really fine.

Thanks for the link to the page, never seen that, so I figure it out is a Snorkel Sovereign. Best regards

It is a straight soveriegn - they do not have white dots - set was $17.75 new in 1955.

Correct on the Sovereign. None of the open nib snorkels have a white dot. The correpsonding white dot version with the Triumph style closed two-tone nib would have been the Sentinal. There's a really nice re-cap of all of the snorkel models at this link.
