Full Version: So what's the story with DAKS Simpson?

I keep seeing this line of Sailor limited edition stuff expanding. What is DAKS Simpson? Whatever it is, I dig that pseudo-Burberry plaid on some of the clips of their pens. See below for a little higher-res.

Laura, is this where that limited run Pro Gear came from?

Deirdre
It's not really pseudo-Burberry, you know, Daks (well, really, its predecessors) are only 38 years younger. Presuming I can do arithmetic at this hour, which is questionable.

Sailor have been licensed to make writing instruments and case accessories for DAKS (UK) for some time. The range is surprisingly vast!

My Pro Gear SE is not from the DAKS series... if anything, it might have been a short run commissioned in time for the 2007 Heart Line Project, which is a pen industry event designed to encourage fountain pen use in Japan.

Here's the Sailor DAKS product site.
I'd like to see the tan 2-pen wrap in person.

They have DAKS branded refills, and 110th anniversary Limited Edition, too.

EDIT: The anniversary was in 2004 and looks like the pens are sold out. There's a better photo in Shosaikan archive. On that site is says it's OMAS, but it must be a Sailor. The ink that comes with it is Sailor, and the nib looks like Sailor 21k nib.
