I'm sure that I heard on FPN that Herbin make the Caran D'ache inks. Does anyone know if their Amazon is very similar to the Herbin Lierre Sauvage? I do like the Lierre but I wouldn't mind a green that was slightly darker.
Thanks for any help

I've read several times that Herbin used to make CdA's inks but no longer. Oft-repeated doesn't necessarily mean that it's correct. I don't know a source to test whether it's true or not.

I have also understood that Caran D'ache has changed ink suppliers, but I do not know who is supposed to make their inks today. My best suggestion is to find a Caran D'ache vendor and ask them.

Here (if I can figure out how to upload) is a scan of Caran d'Ache Amazon and Herbin Lierre Sauvage, with several other greens for comparison:

Thanks for the scan. It appears from your scan that Amazon is lighter and brighter than Lierre Sauvage - is that true? I had thought that the Lierre would be lighter.
Cheers

Yes, but whether it appears lighter or darker depends on the pen. With a medium nib wet writer there might not be much difference. As for the shade, Lierre Sauvage tends more toward blue and Caran d'Ache toward yellow.
