I found the other day on a garage sale a pen, pencil set made by waterman. They told me was the Carene Model. Trying to identify exactly this pen Itīs impossible for me to find a Carene such as the one I bought. Its boy is dark green with gold insert, gold BB stylus, And all gold the cap, not only the clip, but the cap. The pencil is exactly the same, with complete gold on the cap and matching dark grenn body.
Anyone knows which model is and year aprox.
Thanks alot for the help.
Best regards from argentina

It might be Carene Deluxe as they come with colored bodies, including green, but metal caps. It would be nice to have a picture.

Great! We're much faster identifying pens from pictures. If you have a Carene set, you're fortunate!

Could it be a stub nib? is realy broad and consumes lots of ink

You may be correct as the nib appears a little broader than my B nibs. If you turn it over and look at the breather hole below the nib, you could check if it is a factory stub or a regular broad, which is a letter L on a Carene. If it says L, someone may have had it stubbed.
These are the Carene Deluxe and very pretty. You got a nice set.
The broader the nib, the more ink it goes through. Just the physics of the pen.

Thanks, for the info, Iīll check on the nib just to see if itīs stub or plain Broad.

Checked the nib and as you said, below the breading hole found a little L, so I guess itīs a Stub. Really nice.

L denotes a Broad, but somebody could have ground it into a stub.

It appears as if you have a Prussian Green Carene Deluxe set with vermeil caps - solid silver plated with 23k gold. All of the Waterman Carene Deluxe fountain pens that I have - 4 - have wonderfully smooth nibs. I checked my broad nib against your picture and it appears to me as if you have a stub nib. I don't know if Waterman made stub nibs for these pens. It could be that a previous owner had it ground to spec.
The silver on these caps has a habit of tarnishing through the gold -or underneath the gold. I would suggest that you go the the jewelery section of eBay and purchase a good jeweler's cloth. It'll give your cap and pen body a wonderful shine without taking off any of the gold plating.
Nice set.
Peace,

Thanks a lot for the info. Just to add I received the set mint, never inked, and the source of it only used the pencil, but knew nothing about pens, so I think it was delivered by waterman as it is.
Just a guess, to add some info about.
