Well the MB I have been waiting about, oh, 10 years or so to acquire, finally arrived today while I was at work.
It is a 144DS/Doue Silver Black with a M nib.
The converter is one of the newer converters. That is it has a small spring in it. I am curious to see if this will rust over time.
I ordered the pen from the Fountain Pen Hospital. Quite an impressive place. If you are ever in New York City, I recommend a visit.
I also ordered some ink: Private Reserve Naples Blue and Waterman Havana. I have heard that the Waterman Havana is a brown "by which all other browns are measured." So this ink has the honor of being the first to be used in this pen.
OK, having waited long enough and just taken a few jabs from the wife for being a pen geek, its time to see how this bad boy writes...

With the topic title I was expecting baby pictures!! How about some of the pen . . . I commend the use of the Havana - elegant choice.

No, I don't expect the spring will rust. It's there to agitate the ink to get it flowing properly if it should happen to misbehave. I would guess that it's made of stainless steel.

Well you can't leave us hanging without a picture. Very bad MB etiquette.

Congrats on the new MB. I've bought a couple from FPH and they've always been great. You'll love the Waterman's Havana. It's such a nice ink and it's very distinctive.
