My Blue WSLE arrived last week, and is now, I hope back at Visconti's factory, for the faults on delivery to be corrected (or the pen replaced) sad.gif

First impressions were good, a very handsome and substantial pen, with a beautiful big M nib.

However, the good news ended there.

The pen had four faults(which I found!) on delivery:
1. the celluloid had a small crack across one of the flats on the barrel...looking througha 10x loupe suggested that it was a poorly-finished join
2. the nib was scratchy when drawing anticlockwise circles (like the letter 'o') in the 10 to 2 o'clock segment
3. the filling mechanism was faulty....following the instructions carefully, all depressing the piston seemed to do was to compress the air in the barrle, and
4. the flat sides of the barrel did not 'line-up' with those on the cap when the pen was capped.

Not the best QC for a pen of this price!

The supplier suggested I send it directly to Italy (they are in the USA and I am in Spain), which cost me about $30 for insured postage, and, at the last check it had still to arrive.

Watch this space...I will update when I get feedback from Visconti.

Contrast this with the Stipula which arrived yesterday, from Susanna at pens.it ..... no problems at all!

I would have bought the WSLE from her, but at the time she didn't have the blue in stock...... now, it appears, she has sad.gif

Man that sucks. Well, I really hope that Wall Street works out better for you after its journey to Italy.

Just to tidy-up this thread with brief update:
after much nagging from me, the Export Director wrote that that pen should never have left the factory, and sent me a replacement.

This had a lovely smooth nib, a working filler, and a faultless barrel & cap. A beautiful pen, very heavy, but I like 'Ħem like that!
The 'flats' still didn't line-up, but that was a minor disappointment.

The pen is now with Richard Binder to have the nib ground to an ItaliFine, so it will be a while before I get to write with it again.

The cap on my Wall Street LE does not line up with the barrel either. I've never seen or heard of one that does.

I had a similar experience with my Wall Street. Had to send it back to get everything working, but once I did, I ended up with a wonderful pen that I like very much.

Yours, with a custom nib, should be even better!

The flats of my Wall Street non-LE cap align with the flats on the barrel and the nib does, too. Lucky, lucky. However, I realise that this exception probably proves the rule.

That said, it shouldn't need rocket science for Visconti to make 'em all do that.

I have several Visconti Opera Club pens and just like all of you, my flats don't line up very well either. Out of the three that I own, one lines up nicely. Sort of an issue at that price point.
