I just received a jar of section sealant from Tryphon and after opening the jar realised I needed to get help. It is a Rosin-based sealant. How would one apply it to section threads without making a big mess?

warm it up( warmer it gets, more liquid it gets) and use a toothpick -- as the old brylcreem ads went "a little dab will do ya"

To remove the excess, warm the pen again and clean off with a soft rag or paper towel. A very little bit of alcohol will take it off too, but expect to polish the surface again.
