I was just curious who owns entire sets of inks from different brands for me I am have 13 out of 28 private reserve inks I think I might keep buying all of the colors because I have not found one I haven't liked from PR and to have a complete set would be really cool.

I like collecting (or is it amassing?) fountain pens, but to me ink is not collectible. I just buy what I like or want to try. I'd probably have about half the ink I have now had I known what it was like before I bought it.

The Aurora ink would be easy. Though, I only have the black.

I'm collecting alot of Noodler's lately, and I need alot more.

I do have almost every color that Winsor and Newton makes of their drawing inks. The one I'm missing is the Indian Red but my fresh bottle of Noodler's Antietam Red fixes that need perfectly.

I've got 2 PR inks and I have my mind set on a few more colors. I don't know that I'll ever have a complete inventory of any MFG., but I'll sure try! tongue.gif

As a private individual, I suspect that Greg Clark might have as many currently available inks (and a lot of discontinued, also) as anyone. He has to have in order to do his INK SAMPLER book.

He has to update every handful of months as so many new colors become available. His last edition was, I think, in July 2005. It's woefully behind the times already. Life must have been easy for him before PR and Noodler's. biggrin.gif

I have complete sets of almost any ink brand (e.g. Private Reserve, Rohrer & Klingner, Herbin, Waterman, Sheaffer, Standardgraph, Pelikan, Montblanc, Omas and Waltraud Bethge to name a few).

I'm trying to keep my ink sample booklets as complete as possible :-)

Cheers

I have the full collection of levenger ink along with all of the modern Pelikan inks and all of the Lamy Inks. I must own roughly well over 80 or 90 bottles of ink that ranges from Diamine, Noodlers, PR, Aurora, Rotring, Parker, Sheaffer, Visconti, Omas, Pelikan, Levenger, Lamy, Waterman, montblanc, namiki and platinum. Phewwww. I have more inks than I need but there are plenty more that I want!!! laugh.gif laugh.gif

If one were really that hardcore about collecting all the colors, why not make arrangements with your favorite seller (one who sells the entire line) to set up a standing order for any new colors released? ohmy.gif

Off topic a bit, but I just tracked down Greg Clark's "Ink Sampler" web page (thanks Roger) and he noted his neweset edition has 370 inks. (And Roger noted that he's already behind in new colors.)

Even at 370 inks, and I wouldn't even guess at how many pen manufacturers there are out there...all that and I rarely see anybody in public using a fountain pen, and when I do (especially if I ink up in public) I get the strangest looks from people, like they might be thinking haven't you heard about Bic™ pens?

Exactly, and since you are obviously a dolt for not knowing about Bics, your inking up in public is akin to a lewd and lascivious act! laugh.gif

I have all the Waterman's and the vast Aurora collection.
