After reading other posts on this forum I decided to get the Pilot 78G b nib as my first stub/italic nib pen. It just arrived today from HisNibs.com, which was a pleasure to order from btw. smile.gif Aside from getting written ink samples of two different inks I've been considering buy (PR chocolat and sherwood green) from Norman Haase, I got my teal Pilot, which looked lovely. After I figured out it was a screw-on cap not a snap cap I dipped it in PR Arabian Rose and it's just a dream to write with. It's just broad enough for italic writing without being so broad I can't use it with my normal writing. smile.gif Basically, perfect. cloud9.gif

They are a lot of fun, aren't they? I have Noodler's Ottoman Azure in mine.

Glad you are enjoying your 78G -- I sure love mine! I have the red one. It (and a few other pens) helped my pen collection find a focus -- Asian pens.

Haha, I'm definitely looking into Pilot after this. smile.gif

For the price, IMHO, you can't find a better stub nib than Pilot's 78G. Of course I was spoiled with a BB nib from BobSpeebrecher (speerbob).

That's good to know. smile.gif A BB nib sounds like fun!

I especially love mine with the Tuplip Noire in it. It seems extra smooth.

I'm glad that you are having a lot of fun with your stub nib. It just makes me want one myself! And your usual hand looks a lot like mine.

Yeah, I'd imagine flowy inks would be nice in this pen. smile.gif

Haha, they are worth it! They're fun. biggrin.gif
My "usual hand" is actually a modern creation. I use it majority of the time now, but a mere few weeks ago before my first fountain arrived, I wrote exclusively in manuscript and didn't even know half the cursive alphabet, lol.
