I just recently saw this pencil on the internet, and wonder what is so special about it. I read these things go for 20$ each now! Thats ridiculous, considering a pencil is something you use up and throw away!

Dunno what was so great about these pencils.

My grandmother swore by them and always had a box of them around her house. I didn't care for the eraser configuration as I always made mistakes and always pushed down too hard on the eraser making it disappear into the holder. The lead was soft, softer than #2 as I recall; then again, I pushed down so hard I destroyed any lead tip I ever sharpened. Good old Dixon Ticonderoga's were fine by me, until the good and stylish mechanical pencils came along.

At 20 each you would be getting a bargain. The last dozen I saw for sale had an asking price of just over 30 per pencil. I have heard of them selling as high as 40 each. Crazy but they are one nice pencil.
