Hello there Fountain Pen People!

I found this forums searching for info on some pens I have from my grandmother's estate; I've had them for a while and used some of them, but I need more info (and will make a topic in the appropriate forums). Anyway Fountain Pens have always fit into my love of using all things vintage, especially those that retain usability well (I'm typing with an IBM model M keyboard). Fountain Pens fill that bill so well that I couldn't resist the big handful that came from my grandmother's estate years ago. Its roster numbers as such:
Parker Duofold (Black and gold)
Unnamed "Pattented" pen, black and grey pattern with red highlights and gold fittings
Sheaffer's cartridge fill pen
Esterbrook lever fill (used it all through high school!)
Parker "51"
Plus a few other neat vintage pens that are not fountain pens;
and a German "Diplomat" that I honestly have no idea where I got.

Cheers all!

Hi,

Welcome to FPN!

Heirloom pens are great treasures. How many things that are passed down through families can be used every day? My mom's pens got me hooked (well, actually I was hooked when I used a Sheaffer's school pen in 3rd grade), and I'm fortunate enough to own a couple of dozen of my grandfather's fountain pens. I use them on a regular basis, and think of these dear people every single time.

Enjoy yourself here!

Cheers,
Tom

Lucky! The Duofold and the '51' are famous pens. When I die and have grandkids who love fountain pens (And grandpappy will be SURE to make sure that happens), then I will pass on my own Duofold and 51 to them.

Welcome to teh forum.

Welcome to the forums, sounds like a nice selection of pens, what type of Duofold do you have. I ma sure if you keep visiting this site, your collection will grow.

The Duofold is the old style, fat and black, which leads me to believe it's a 1928 model year. Very nice pen, I now plan on having it fixed.

Hi,
I like your pen collection, especialy Parkers are great pens, I have Parker 100, 45, Sonnet and Hero 100, which is considered a version of Parker 51.
Welcome to the forum "molodec".
(I also came from one of those countries where everything used to be red rolleyes.gif .)
Cheers,

Not really any of my 'grand' relatives, but another relative gave me some old pens - 15-25 years old - very nice ones, even if a bit loud and I have been hooked since. Hello and welcome.
