Today I received a never-used Sheaffer Imperial IV that's been sitting in a drawer since 1995 or so. The ink cartridges and converter are still in the box, untouched!

When I looked it over I noticed that the feed is slightly off centre under the nib. Is that within tolerances? Do you think it would affect the ink flow?

One more question: how long do the converter sacs last in these things? I don't want my next post to be in the "Famous Leaks and Spills" thread..

Thanks,

Neill

Those are silicon sacs (or at least a comparable material), which should last "forever".

There's only one way to try the ink flow of your pen smile.gif I wouldn't worry about the feed being slightly off-center.

Great, I was wondering if it was silicone or not. This is nice to hear. I'm looking forward to inking it tomorrow!

Thanks for your reply,

Unless you plan to sell it on oyBoy and get some money, just use it!

Well, I took all your advice and inked it up. It's my first sac filler so it was kind of fun. It puts down a nice wet line with no hesitation. Nice little pen!

Thanks everyone,

Neill
