This is my second post, I already posted a desperate plea for assistance with my newly aquired Platignum Silverline embarrassed_smile.gif

I'm new to collecting fountain pens, it seems to be the latest one of my ever-revolving and evolving hobbies. Recently its been dolls houses, jewellery making.. and now fountain pens. This is the first one that I wouldn't class as a craft-related hobby, but then.. I've just got started and of course I have to write with my pens, so its probably just a matter of time. I've always been quite ridiculously attracted to stationery so I suppose this was inevitable!

So far I have a new Parker Lattitude which was a present (which started all this!) and a Parker 51 Demi, and the aforementioned Silverline. I expect to be gradually accumulating pretty/stylish/classic/functional pens. At the moment I'm fixated on another 51 I also have a nostalgic thing for Conway Stewart because I can remember there was one in a drawer when I was little, and I wasn't allowed to touch it. I don't think anyone touched it, that was the pity!

Anyway... Hello!

Welcome, Delancey!

The latest of one of your ever-revolving hobbies? Oh, man, I thought I closed the door when I left this morning! I've done just about every handcraft from crochet to leather tooling, and I've collected just about everything there is to collect from hiking sticks to fanart. I've also been more or less obsessed with pens and paper since I was a kid. I could open my own office supply store.

So, welcome, again! It is now ok to pick up and use that Conway Stewart instead of just admiring it from a distance. Think of all the different inks and expression that will flow from its nib to the paper, a result of your imagination and caring.

Ah, life is good. Cluttered, but good!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes!

I don't expect to be cured any time soon of this "need" to aquire and "play with" old pens, I do hope I can slow down a little though, because the bank balance can't take it if I don't!

I just bought a Conway Stewart of my very own (No 479) so for a while, I'm sated.. at least for as long as it takes me to research that model, receive it in the post, and see how well it works. biggrin.gif

So let me get this straight - you now collect fountain pen and you raise "Battle Hamsters" (?!) (your profile) Now there's a combo I have not seen before.

I would hate to meet you and your possy on a dark and squeaky wheel.

Have fun Delancey - and burn some ink.

Welcome, I am sure you will find lots of interesting stuff here, you may have only just started, but believe me the collection will grow (and grow).

I am going to have to look up those pens of yours, I've only heard of the 51's. Like fancy? Look up Visconti.
