This was one of my father's pens, I retrieved from my mother's house this Xmas.
I do not know the model, any ideas? It is sterling silver, it was almost blak but a polish with one of those silver cloths and it is back to a brilliant finish
Inlaid nib says SHEAFFER - 14K - 585

Unfortunately half of the inlaid nib is broken, so is no good for writing (or it can be an extra fine nib)
Where can it be reapired? just in the factory?

Thanks

Why don't you pay a visit to Akkerman in Den Haag? (seeing that you are from Rotterdam)
They can send your pen to the Sheaffer Customer Service Center in the UK, or maybe they also can exchange the section of your pen for a new one.

I think your pen is an Imperial (835)pen,dating from around 1976.
Please check the maximum diameter of the barrel to be sure : Imperial around diameter 11.7mm, Legacy around 12.7mm.
I can help you with a replacement nib section, at least if your pen proves to be an Imperial.
Please send PM when interested( I live in Flanders- Belgium)

Thanks, around 1976 sound reasonable.
I rememeber my father using this pen in 1978 onwards
The diameter of the nib assembly (where those metal squares are) is 11mm so it should be an imperial according to you info.

If you send it to Richard Binder. He is the nib master and one of the best pen restorers but he aint cheap and the waiting period is around 17 weeks.

The previous poster's suggestions are all good and I've used several of them myself. Let me add the name of Sherrell Tyree who among her many talents is a specialist in Sheaffer Pens. I've sent many pens to her over the years and have been 100% satisfied every time. Very reasonable prices and a decent turn around time. I'd highly recommend her to you. Here is her and her brother's web site.

I support the idea of having a look at Akkermans in The Hague. (Passage) Not far away from your hometown. They perform excellent repairs and it will save you the costs of shipping abroad (twice). Another possibility is to look for a cheap, similar donor pen on Marktplaats or so. But again, I think you are better off with a trip to The Hague.
