Got this pen very recently. The Broad nib is slightly stub-ish, with a square cut to the ends of ascenders/descenders. It's also buttery smooth and a delight to write with; nicest Broad nib I've ever used. Monotone 18K nib makes a change too!

You really have that camera perking well, Richard. Great closeups! smile.gif Thanks.

That's a line that I have paid little attention to. Have to have a look.

Nice pen and pics. How about a writing sample from it so we can see that stubbish broad at work?

Hi Richard,

Yes, they seem to, at about twice the price of G.I...

I know of 2 more of these, here in the Low Countries at 2 B&M stores, at prices even more expensive, if Davy is really desperate biggrin.gif.

Warm regards, Wim

Really nice pictures, Richard!
That Skipper looks like the long-lost twin brother of my Laban Mento in "Autumn Flake" smile.gif

Thanks Maja!

Now you mention it, I knew I had seen that pattern somewhere before. Separated at birth, obviously tongue.gif

I have a Laban Kaiser and like it a lot, but have major problems with the nib drying out after a day or two if unused. Does your Mento have the same problem?

Hi Richard,

Yes, the Laban does tend to dry out after it's been capped for a while. It's a really nice big pen, though. I got mine from a friend here on FPN and sent it off to have it's nib stubbed because it's my "good luck" pen (I found a job not too too long after I received the pen smile.gif )

Thanks emrecan! I'll try and get round to reviewing it fully sometime. But in the meantime, KCkc did a great review earlier this year here: http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/in...?showtopic=2207

It actually gave me the final push towards buying mine!
