Hello:
I live in The woodlands (around Houston). I have a modest growing pen collection. I am curious to know if there is a fountain pen club in Houston or any like minded individuals willing to share knowledge/contacts ?
Thank you

Just to give you an introduction....
I am a CPA by profession and work in an oil company. I travel a fair bit around the world. This sometimes gives me a chance to get some really good deals. I got to buy a Parker 50 Falcon set NOS and 45 Flighter in Saudi Arabia (of all places - for less than $100)). Also, NOS Sheaffer Targa Flighter and Rotring 600 in my other visit for around 70 dollars.
My pride and joy is my fathers PFM V in blue and an Esterbrook J. Blue, black and stainless steel (flighters) are my favorite color themes. I still have the first pen I bought with my own money a Shaeffer Imperial in 1991. It still writes a perfect fine line.
I grew up and got my education in Karachi, Pakistan. I have lived in Dhahran Saudi Arabia for two years also. Both places were easy shopping places for fountain pens. Houston has been my home for last seven years. And I just love this city.
I got a chance to live in NY/NJ area for a year. I loved to browse the fountain pen hospital at Warren Street. It is a very impressive shop.

Greetings and welcome to FPN. What an interesting life you have had thus far! Do you suppose it's true that the pen is mightier than the sword?

Welcome to FPN. I wish my job allowed me to trave4l like you. Still, I'm not good enough with numbers to be a CPA. You definitely earn your travel time.
Thank you Playpen and Lifesaver....
I do believe that the pen is mightier than the sword!

Welcome aboard. The more you visit this Forum, the faster that "modest" collection will grow. Addicting, you know.

It's neat to be able to pen shop around the world - each of those pens purchased abroad already has something of a story to go along with it. Anyway, welcome to FPN!

I'm jealous! I never got stationed anywhere that had deals on fountain pens.

Thank you guys for the welcome!
Yes my modest collection is growing. I have recently ordered the second pillar for my collection ie the Parker 51 from Mike McConnel. The other pillar being my fathers' Shaeffer PFM V. They say no collection is complete without these two pens.
Most of the around 50 fountain pens I have are either black or blue or Stainless steel. I am slowly building up a flighter collection. So far I have Parker 25, 45, 50, Sonnet. Shaeffer Targa and Waterman Hemisphere in Stainless steel.
My wish list is Lamy 2000, Parker 75 flighter and Pelikan 1000.
Best Regards
