Hi everyone
I have amongst my collection two Edson FPs (blue and green), about 12 years old. Just curious to know more about them, especially what they would be worth to sell. They have been inked but effectively unused.
They don't seem to be available in Australia anymore - are they still a current model?
Any advice appreciated.

While you wait for replies from current Edson owners, you might want to do a search of the Attic in the Marketplace section. That will bring up past history from sales here on the board.

Yes, they're definitely a current model, although the green and the red aren't produced anymore. The blue ones can be purchased new, along with a black/silver and silver, etc. Just Google "Waterman Edson" and various sellers will appear. I daresay you can get more for a used green or red than you can for a used blue, due to the rarity factor.
Edsons are extremely nice pens and some of us like them a lot. They're definitely saleable if you're wanting to sell them -- I won't say they've appreciated significantly (I don't know what you paid for them 12 years ago), but they seem to sell well and hold their value. As GHost Plane says, there should be plenty of info if you Google them or research them on eBay.
Good luck with them -- I would expect you could find a buyer for the green one quickly in the Marketplace if you price it right! (I will add that I recently purchased a red one in the $400-$450 range)

As has been indicated, the blue Edson is still in production, the emerald is not. Emerald and ruby Edsons have become rather hard to find. I guess the people who own them are holding on to them. I have one of each and I use them and like them so much that I will not resell them in my lifetime. So your emerald might have some collector value to it that the blue might not.
Edsons are fairly easy to sell if they are priced right. I am going to keep my mouth shut on values, though, as I tend to undervalue pens and get myself into trouble. You might also contact some of the on line vendors who occasionally sell on consignment to get some values. I don't want to commit anyone, but I can say I would call Dennis at Parkville Pens.
Good luck.

I agree with FrankB -- I hesitated to put a price in my message above, but I did disclose the price that I'm personally familiar with. But I've seen the prices on the reds and greens vary a lot -- some sellers just want them to get to someone who'll appreciate them (and so, price them lower), while others want to maximize their return (which is entirely their right) -- and it depends on how long the seller is willing to wait for the right buyer, how eager the buyer is, if there are other Edsons on the market, whether the seller is known and trusted, etc. I think the key with Edsons is patiently watching the sales that do occur now and then, and, as FrankB suggested, asking the experts.
