I have my first Japanese Eyedropper on the way and can hardly wait! I'm familiar (having read a few things) with filling and writing with this type of pen, but what about storing (with ink)? Should they be treated the same as other FPs?

I guess I'm asking: nib up / down / horizontal? And how nervous should I be about leaking ink?

Thanks for any input!

All of my own vintage eyedropper pens are unrestored, in that I have done nothing but put silicon around the point section threads. Of the half-dozen I have inked and used, one leaked while being stored horizontally. I now store any inked eyedroppers upright. wink.gif

I have quite a few Japanese eyedroppers. Some of them are my favorite writers, but my learned-by-expereince rule for them is keep them at your desk. Even under ideal conditions these pens are little time bombs waiting to blow up on you at the worst time. There is nothing like a pocket full of ink to make a first impression...Carrying one around in your pocket is just asking for trouble, but if you keep them at your desk, you should be safe.

Stay Well
