Details:
Bought the matte black (with M nib) pen at Paradise Pen for 75 dollars (which is the usual price for this pen),
comes with mini-catalog, warranty info, converter, and a blue ink cartridge. (and the pen, duh.)
First impression 5/5
When I got the box, I could tell that I was getting a great pen, in terms of preformance and looks.
The box is black, with the LAMY logo embossed in grey plastic in the center. All that is needed, no excess.
Looks 5/5
When I saw the pen, I first noticed the clip. In all my life I had never seen something so different, thumbs up.
Then there's the body of the piece, it's very simple, with nothing fancy or unneeded. Black with silver trim, and the silver lamy logo in small letters near the clip. Bravo.
Stainless steel nib with the words "M LAMY" ( the "M" meaning meduim nib)
Preformance 5/5 again.
The pen wrote a true deep blue line, best on Moleskine paper. It wrote wet, but not very wet, not very dry. Just perfect, with the slight scratching of the nib on the paper making it better than perfect.
Filling 5/5
Fills easily with a cartridge (which is what I used) and a converter (if you like converters, sorry, but I didn't test that, I don't use bottled.).
Just screw off the grip section (which is smooth, but very grippy.), and pop the cartridge out.
Overall: 5/5.
A better than perfect pen that would make anyone happy, and that will last for a very long time.
You won't regret your purchase.
