On a Japanese web site I found a great Sailor pen I have never seen before. It is called a Sailor bamboo fountain pen "bamboo floor story" mini type. Product number SAF0701. I would like to order one but can't figure out the web page. Anyone have a web page in English I might inquire with?
Phthalo
If you post the link to the web page, no doubt someone would recognize the pen and be able to tell you the model name.

I'm guessing you mean one of the Susutake Bamboo models though.

Check Swisher. They have a large variety - of course you'll have to call for the price. I believe the natural bamboos are limited editions.

The Susutake pens are absolutely beautiful, usually going around 800 to 900 USD, I think. Just for reference, "Susutake" means "soot bamboo".

The Sailor Susutake Drooping Cherry is a bit more than USD2000 when ordered from Pengallery. Waaaa. I really wanted one. sad.gif

Most, if not all, online sellers in Japan will not take overseas orders.

The alternate is to use the services of a thrid party buyer such as shoppingmalljapan, rinka, and others. For a fee you can buy almost anything you want. Theiir websites even include half-way decent translation software. Even realtime bidding in auctions is possible.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Stan, do you perhaps have a list of those sites? I was able to find shoppingmalljapan, but rinka is also the name of a Japanese model, apparently ... lots of hits smile.gif

Sorry mispelled the name.

rinkya.com.
celga.com.
abidko.com.

and others.

The list is provided without recommendation. To the best of my knowledge all work. You will need to investigate all costs, fees, terms, shipping, etc. on your own. Before using any, please compare fee structures as they vary considerably. Some are less expensive at higher prices, some at lower.

Have fun and good luck.

There are some good photos here. They seem mostly sold out, but you might inquire.

I see that there is a very pronounced step between the section and the barrel. I would find that very uncomfortable to write with, but of course that's all a matter of preference.

You might ask the eBay seller Taizo who goes under the name of Japan Antiques for his Sailor sales. He's a pleasure to deal with if he'll do it. Just specify clearly which model you'd like.
TimRoscoe
email John Mottishaw. I can not speak for him, but I would bet that even though that particular model is not usually offered in North America, he could get it for you. That would be infinitely easier than trying to deal with someone in Japan.
John is at nibs.com

Here is a link to the web page I found it on. Isn't it a sweet looking pen.
