Full Version: Check out this change to my Edson

I just received my blue Edson which had been sent to France for "repair" due to cracks in the barrel. I'm happy to have it back but, sacre bleu, what is this gold dot that's now in the end of the barrel?!! It was not in the blue barrel I sent for repair (in actuality, the barrel had to be replaced). Do all new Edsons have this dot?

Is this a design change to Edson, or is it simply a little "helmet" they put on the Edsons owned by those of us spastic enough to have cracked ours? HP

I purchased my Edson in December and the barrel matches this picture exactly. I am curious to know what yours looked like before the "repair". Was your barrel just blue plastic all around the end?
Hennypenny
Yes, it was solid blue "glass" or "plastic" == and I can tell you that when that material takes a rap the wrong way, it can crack -- just like a windshield (and the cracks can "run", again just like a windshield). I also have earlier red and green Edsons, and they have solid barrels -- no gold dots.

So, I guess this was a design change -- possibly to shore up the barrel in the spot most likely to take a hit. Interesting ...

Hey! I want a gold dot too!!! I like it, but I hope I don't have to crack my Edson to get one.

Just mentioned this in another thread, but I'll mention it here too. My Diamond Black has a silver dot on the end of the barrel.

Yes, it's not the preferred way to get an upgrade! crybaby.gif HP

After hearing about the problems with the barrel cracking anything to improve the design is welcome. Also, I think the "new" design looks good !
