Hello All,

I bought a new Waterman Carene Deluxe Special Edition pen from an eBay seller: PensAndLeather. Upon receiving the pen, I noticed that the polish on the gold plated cap is worn off at certain places. The seller offered to replace the cap with a good one. My question is, if I just replace the cap, does that change the serial number of pen or will I have any problems in future when I need a warranty service on the pen? or any problem at all?

I appreciate your time.

Thanks
- Sandeep

Anyone? Or is it just a stupid question and I am unnecessarily worrying.

I don't have a Deluxe, just regular Carenes, but I don't think they have serial numbers and shouldn't impact any warranty work. For the definitive answer, I would e-mail Mr Lewertowski who posts on here in the Waterman forum and has an eBay store as Pen Seller in France. The key is to get a proper cap so you can use the pen with confidence.

I agree with Ghost Plane, I have a Carene Deluxe and there is no serial number on the pen (at least none that I can find). There is one on my Edson but not the Carene. I would take the offer on a new cap and not worry about it.

Thanks Ghost Plane and Mark for the feedback. I am relieved now. I will go ahead with the replacement.

I appreciate your time.
