I noticed that both Pelikan and Stabilo have a very similar swan logo. Are they related in any way? maybe different names for different countries?

Stabilo has a swan in it's logo (company name: 'Schwan-Stabilo'), not a pelican, and the two companies are not related.

Stabilo has a Schwan and Pelikan has a Pelikan. Totally unrelated, they even compete!
