I think I've lost my Pilot Custom 98, which was small enough to be my purse pen. For some of you, the price for that would have been high ($99), and it's just high enough that I may not pick up another one for a while, but it was a cute little thing. When I got out of the car in Oakland the other day, my purse flap was open. I checked to make sure my pen holder was in there, but I kept the 98 loose in my purse. I haven't seen it since. sad.gif

On the other hand, it's small enough to go into hiding at a moment's notice.

Update: found it. It was between the seat and back of the passenger seat. Little guy had snuck in there.

Hopefully, it's just "in hiding" and will still show up.

Scour your car if you haven't already. Seems a common place to lose pens - and glasses, and wayward wallets, and cell phones - speaking from experience. tongue.gif

I've searched half the car, but it's such a small pen there's still a chance it's hiding.

...and tomatoes. Many years ago I went to grocery shopping and I didn't notice a couple of tomatoes fell under my car seat. I found a decaying remains of the tomatoes a few weeks later during the search for the source of the odor sick.gif

Yup, please look for the pen!! It's too nice pen to give up so soon.

OK, this is O/T, but Taki has reminded me of a story a friend of mine once told me: She had her 13-year old son unload groceries from the car, and somehow he managed to overlook a package of chicken that had fallen out of one of the grocery bags. Then the car sat for a few days in the South Texas heat. You can imagine the smell! Her husband owns a company that cleans/maintains ambulances, and even they couldn't get the smell out. They ended up having to get rid of the car. sick.gif

Anyhoo, I hope you find your pen.

ohmy.gif You guys are scaring me.

Fortunately, I know that a lost pen isn't going to go TOO far. Now that you've made me think, though, I had to make a sudden stop, which threw my purse from the passenger seat into the passenger footwell, so it's entirely possible that the pen is more far-flung than I first looked. That's why it was open when I pulled it out in Oakland.

Good luck in finding your pen, Deirdre!

I've got a Waterman Hemisphere that hasn't been seen since early December when I was using it to put names on Christmas presents. I was certain it was placed back into the middle slot of a three-pen case, but I haven't seen it since. Gotta be around here somewhere (I keep telling myself.)

Cheers,

Tom

I still have a few pens in hiding since a move in mid-2006, but I'm sure I've seen them in the process of packing or moving. These include my Omas 360 Mezzo, a Recife, a Montblanc Generations, and one of my Vanishing points. I likely have more as well.

Good luck searching your car.

I once lost a diving knife on a reef. It wasn't very expensive or very good, so I wasn't upset.
A year later, I was snorkelling on the same piece of reef, saw a metallic glint in amongst the coral, and there was my knife! thumbup.gif
These things do turn up, sometimes.

Great news. Don't ever fill one with invisible ink. I did and have not seen it since.

Hardyb: LOLOL!

YAY! Sounded like a good bet that this is what had happened.

to further stray - a carton of orange juice fell out of bag in the trunk of my daughter's car - in Dallas in the summer, just before they went out of town for a week. They ended up getting rid of the car.

That sounds like a Steven Wright joke.
