Here is a short interview of Nobuyoshi Nagahara from Sailor by PingMag Magazine.
It is a quick read but and it includes some pictures of Mr. Nagahara, the shop floor and some pens at various steps of the fabrication process. Enjoy.

You rascal, you posted this one hour ahead of me. Oh well, the early bird gets the credit. Good catch and Thanks!

Great interview! Thanks for posting the link. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Yukio Nagahara (the son of Mr. Nagahara), at a Sailor pen clinic in Maastricht last year. He fiddled about with my Parker 51 and my MB149 and in a couple of minutes the pens were writing so much better. Amazing skill

Thank you for the link. I had the pleasure of having him adjust three Sailor pens at the D.C. show in 2007. What a thrill! smile.gif

O bliss!

I just started collecting Sailors. About a year ago I lost an ebay bidding war for one with an odd nib that changed the thickness of the line according to how vertically you held the pen, but I found that same type of nib on one of their cheaper student pens.

Wow, the man is truly dedicated to creating the next, better writing instrument. I'm amazed...

His latest interview in Japansee appears in an Internet magazine. It is relative long, but you can find some intersting episodes of his devotion toward fountain pens. The follwoing is the URL. To read this itnerview you need to register, which is a little annoying process though.
