I have been using this site for reference for some time now. (a common trap employed to get peple hooked i am noticing). Anyway, i thought it about time i sign up and get involved; and give an overviw of my little collection.

At school a fiend of mine introduced me the the lamy vista, that replaced my array of cheap parkers as my everyday pen. I got it filled with some turquoise MB ink and i was away.

The first vintage fountain pen that got me hooked was my grandad's capilliary action parker 61 that was restored and handed down to me some years ago. Following that i dug out my father's 51 rarely used and got it filled with some waterman green. Noticing that my nan then gave me her own 51 with a luscious broad nib. These three bens write beautifully, but i am loath to take them anywhere incase i loose them.

At work i use a pelikan 200 that was bought by my wife for graduation, a beauty that stores lots of ink, and it has to with the amount of writing i have to do. Unfortunately i have had to replace it once as some light fingered person took a fancy to my origaional.

I also have a parker sonnet, filled with red for when i'm helping th ewife mark her school books.

The pen i really have my eye's set on at present is the Limited Edition conway stewart doctor's pen. Although at that price, i dont think i'd want to take it out of its box never mind into work.

Happy writing

Kitch

Mmmm Cheshire.

As the supermarket has closed I'll have to make do with Wensleydale.

Welcome in from Wiltshire (spritual home of the cheese fondue and formica worktop).

A warm welcome to another Cheshire resident - most of those who visit here, just for a look, eventually end up as a member - this site is such a rich source of information, there always seems to be someone out there who has the answer, no matter how bizarre the question!

I too have had a valued pen stolen, my Pilot vanishing point went absent when my back was turned....... I was NOT amused! but I'm savng hard for another, it was SO useful!!

Welcome to FPN Kitch.

It sounds like you have a nice little collection building there.

Cast an eye over the Pelikan range when you have a minute. It could be the start of a whole new obsession!

Hi from Knutsford, hope you enjoy FPN!

kitch,

Welcome to FPN.

Although I am not from Cheshire, I am many generations from ancestors who were. One of my goals is to visit some day.

I'm so jealous of your inherited pens! Nice start! I am looking for a good 51... :-) though after you spend a little while looking around her it looks like everyone is!
Welcome!

Yes, total and mutual consent!! We didnt have enough Footballers wives and Range Rovers in Yorkshire so there is a new postcode.

The reality is, working in Knutsford and living in Yorkshire

Now what has Yorkshire ever done to deserve that inflicted on it. What am I saying, send 'em all over the Pennines. That sounds like a good solution to someone living on the other side of Wilmslow roflmho.gif

Yorkshire to Knutsford, sounds like that could be a nightmare commute. Please say it doesn't involve the Irwell Valley and Eccles Interchange, doing the latter on the commute from Bolton used to be bad enough.

1. Yorkshires crime is having too many Yorkshiremen, you know the old saying, a Yorskhireman never undersestimates his own importance. so true.
2. It certianly is a nightmare commute, starting and finishing early helps a lot, and yes, all the bottlenecks, including Thelwall! Just grateful for Sarah Kennedy and Chris Evans.
3. Nice dogs!

Welcome and is this some form of Cheshire takeover plan or what !!!!

I have a good firend in Antrobus which he proudly tells me is in Cheshire.....

Anyway I use to work in a Yorkshire village that was once in Lancashire and families argued over this for years and years and probably still do. Todmorden..... where men are men and the sheep are nervous! It still has a clog shop which for me says it all. Odd place where your aunty may well be your sister!

I live in between Bolton & Manchester and sadly know only to well the Irwell valley up to junction 17 and the Eccles interchange. i still work in Eccles and have done for some 27 years so traffic jams are a part of my life.

Enjoy this place oh and do so hope the airport noise does not intrude your peace and quiet too much lticaptd.gif
Arthur
I know Todmorden very well, excellent s/h book shop there.

I ignore the comments from Hebden Bridge residents who say that the only good thing to come out of Todmorden is the main road.

AndyHayes
Traffic jams!

We get them in Shetland too. There were at least 15 cars queueing for the roundabout last night when I was walking home!

Thanks for the warm welcome and kind salutations!

Yorkshire.... now where is that??.... sorry couldnt resist.... was my dad's favourite retaliation to the Leed's fans one worded chant. yes you guessed it.

And yes a pelikan obsession it almost certainly on the horizon... i have an m205 in my sights atm.
