Since I'm one of those types who likes to match pens and inks, what would be a good ink in the general gold family? I'm more interested in writing legible words, than highlighting. So far, I like Noodler's Apache Sunset. Thanks

That's a nice-looking pen. I bought the silver version some time ago at a flea market just because I liked the Fleur-de-Lis pattern, but the body on mine is in poor condition and the nib badly damaged.

As for ink color -- with gold pens I would try a rich purple. Noodler's Wampum comes to mind, or Iraqui Indigo if you want waterproof.

I think this one is in pretty good shape, except the nib tip is ever-so-slightly bent. It's flexible nib still writes well I'm told. Actually, It's funny you mentioned purple. If I don't end up putting a legible gold-ish color ink in it, I was thinking maybe PR Tanzanite.
