I saw a posting on PT the other day about a new blue ink that Noodlers is coming out with. I am really excited about it as I love the cobalt blue color it is based on. I emailed Dick Egolf about this ink with some questions which were based on the Noodlers products that I have tried in the past.
A few minutes later I received an email from Mr Egolf, which answered some of my questions. Other questions went unanswered as Mr Egolf did not have first hand knowledge of the inks which I was referring to. Specifically the FPN Galileo Brown and the Blue Upon the Plains of Abraham inks.
This afternoon, I received a long and detailed email from Nathan Tardiff, which explained all of my concerns and provided answers to each concern in turn. Mr Tardiff even went as far as to apologise personally to me for the inks not performing to my satisfaction.
This people, is how business should be done. Any other manfuacturers out there should take note.
I will be purchasing more Noodlers because of the personal touch that they bring to our small corner of the world.
Cheers,
Sean

Sean, would you care to pass along the useful info you received?

Blue Upon the Plains of Abraham is an ink which I believe was only a Canadian release. It is a very saturated blue which has strong purple tones as well. It shades well, but in the pens I was using it in, tended to dry up and not flow if not used daily. When the flow would come back the ink was way more purple than blue. It seemed that the ink was a different shade every time I used it.
The information which was passed on to me was basically that the ink was formulated to work better in pens which have a wide nib slit, one which you can see light thru. This would enable the ink to flow as intended and not dry up as readily in the pen.
My issues with the Galileo were the biocide scent (which is not new) and the bleed through on some papers (again not new). The answers I received were that the biocide was changed, and that the ink bleeds on some papers as it was formulated to be fast drying.
Now, I can only comment on what was emailed to me with regard to these particular inks, and will not post the email as a courtesy to all parties. I am not making any blanket statements, and I do not represent Noodlers or Luxury Brands. Please do not feel that I am hiding anything either as that is not my intent.
Please also note that I have paraphrased here and not quoted, cut and pasted, or in any other way posted direct copy from my correspondence with both parties. Please do not take what I have said about these particular inks to be gospel for the whole Noodlers line. It is good ink, and as I said before I will continue to use it. I am now armed with the knowledge that the Abraham ink is intended to be used in very fast flowing pens.
My intent was to post a thank you to a company who, in this day and age, went way above the norm to reach out to a customer. That in itself deserves a big applause.
Cheers,
Sean

I've just ordered this ink. Might take a few days to get here, but I'm excited to give it a try.

Yes, that is where I ordered from. I also ordered a bottle of the Nikita with the eyedropper pen. It's on sale. I should have gotten the Heart of Darkness, too, but hadn't read the review yet.

Swisher is now sold out and awaiting their next batch, supposedly in 7 or so days. That said, I hope my order actually made it before the sold out sign needed to be posted. They haven't updated by email or anything, so I can only assume I'm ok.
